It's coming! Victor's Birthday is TOMORROW (aaahhhh!!) but his party is on Sunday and we're excited to celebrate :o) Above is a picture of his invitation - some details blurred because if you want to know, you know how to get ahold of us. True! We may have forgotten a few on our list... just let us know! Many have been asking about what Victor wants... here are some ideas for those who are asking...
Victor LOVES music.
He plays Papa's piano all the time and just found Mama's guitar and wants to play it. He dances when music is audible and claps when it's over. So, anything musical is a great gift for our little man.
We really want to enroll Victor in a KinderMusik class, but they are a bit cost-prohibitive at the moment... so a gift certificate to Joyful Music & Dance Studio (<-- link) would be awesome!
Victor loves his friends.
There are a couple of organizations who have helped our family along during our last year and a half. We know there are a lot of others who need the help, so we'd be honored if anyone would be willing to give donations to these guys instead of getting Victor a present.
Sanford Crisis Pregnancy Center (<-- link)
Our friend Debra works at this great center that helps women who find themselves in a surprise pregnancy, like us! I cried on Deb's shoulder as she reassured me that everything was going to be alright. They are doing a great work in the community and we are so excited to see them continue to grow to help more and more women. One thing that we've continued to benefit from is their "Earn While You Learn" program... parents can go in and watch different videos on different topics to learn all about pregnancy and parenting. In exchange, they earn credits to redeem in the "Boutique" where they can get anything from maternity or baby clothes to diapers or a high chair.
The Central Florida Breastfeeding and Parenting Center (<-- link)
I can confidently say that we would not have made it this long if it weren't for this place and these ladies (as far as breastfeeding is concerned). In the beginning we wondered if it would last a week and now here we are almost a year later going strong. We go to the center weekly on Fridays and have had the chance to interact with other moms who go through a lot of the same things we do. We ask questions and laugh together - even cry sometimes. We have learned so much about the benefits of breastfeeding - to baby and mom - and hope that others can be reached by this great Center.
That's all for now... didn't realize the post would be so long! Have a Happy Wednesday and stay out of Tropical Storm Fay's way! :o)
